Flight level adherence days have been organised across Europe from 30 September 2010 00:00 UTC until 1 October 2010 23:59 UTC (delayed by 1 day in view of industrial action). During these days ATC and pilots should adhere to the planned cruising level for any portion of the route to be flown, as filed in item 15 of the ICAO flight plan. Pilots and ATC should not request/allocate an alternative level except in the event of an emergency, weather avoidance or to achieve separation. The purpose of the trials is to reduce Sector Over-deliveries and Overloads.
