Turbulent air for Airbus 380
Potentially unanticipated issues related to turbulence caused by the new Airbus 380, may cause the USA FAA to come up with new and special safety regulations.
An FAA working group will also make recommendations to the International Civil Aviation Organisation, which oversees aviation internationally.
The good news is that the FAA's Laura Brown said, “There won't be any separate US standards that are set for the A380, other than the international standards decided by ICAO".
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that US officials might try to require increased distances around the A380 for safety, with the first A380 aircraft expected to be delivered late next year, with Qantas as a leading customer and the A380 visiting Sydney very shortly.
