An alternate solution could be to have a controller setting linked to the kind of engine :
a prop often need a carb heat and prop settings
a jet has more need for speedbrake
a vectored thust would be for VTOL
...
This solution could also be applied to old acf without any modification

I think it's worth lobbying Austin on this. There are a lot of controller settings within X-Plane that should really be aircraft specific, and be stored in the .acf file for each aircraft. I suspect it's too late for a change in v9, 'cos the .acf format is probably frozen until v10 now. |
